... the experience of being in Newcastle, Tantobie to be exact, was beautiful. With friends Big John and Jools, which was enough of a treat in itself, but there was loads of wondrous dripping of experiences to add ............

I struggle coming up with words to express the experience. It rolled on with happenings which was all focus around the Baptism of Danny who you can see inn the pipturesque.

The reason for being there, as well as we said we wanted to go for a visit, was that Joan and me were invited to be Godparents. Hey hey.
I suppose the big experiences was meeting real humans from this special culture which I had not really dived into before. Loved the chit-chat. Loved the humour - warmth - quirky phrases which is normal to them.

One big highlight was to go out with the men 'up Consett'!
'Up Consett' was basically a pub crawl in the ex steel town of Consett which everyone in the UK knows about. The industry was hit with closedown, as was the Mining industry, during the Thatcher years - o my my - I really had trouble with her attitudes to all the working people I worked with during the years of her control.

The best cultural experience this evening out, was the visit to the Consett Working Men's Club. ALL MEN!!
(the bar workers were women of course!!)
It was a club full of drinking men - mainly sixty plus - I sensed. Working men's faces - row upon row .......... what an experience.
The men I was with, Big John - Brian and Keith, really helped me to understand what was going on. Loved it. I could click many words about this experience alone. Much reflection to do.

you are beautiful ............... that is a message to all my new friends ........... and you too ............
