Michael Franti is singing on my piPhone above on this page.(1/6/08)
(Apologies if you have missed the vibes over the last two days - my Chief Tech advisors have been upgrading the music machine and making it faster and sweeter for you)

Michael Franti ha been a hero of mine for a number of years since 1991 actually. His song 'Television' was played all the time in Wilson Mansions and at Greenbelt Festival, Rolling Magazine and the Very Stinking Late Show. It was radical and powerfully aggressive. I loved it. It said so much to me and met me in my desire to change and change with a radical edge.

His first band, The Disposable Heroes (1991–1993)
Full title:: 'The Disposable Heroes of Hiphoprisy' said it all.
The Disposable Heroes of Hiphoprisy wrote biting, progressive lyrics that railed against the injustices of the world, set to a fusion of industrial and hip hop. Their first album won acclaim for its social commentary, and they were chosen by U2 to open for their Zoo TV Tour.

Later on Franti and the Disposable Heroes put together another record of music accompanying novelist William Burroughs' readings for an album entitled Spare Ass Annie and Other Tales.

I shook the mans hand after he did his massive set at the Greenbelt Festival a couple of years ago and he is with us again this year hey hey.

I was in the mosh pit with some young guns who I had met as volunteers and in the iPod Show which I ran for three years at Greenbelt. He shook the Festival with some great radical sing-along numbers. One of the best gigs ever at Greenbelt.

This year he is opening the festival on Friday - opening night.
Don't miss it - a true fantastic bite at your throat .......

I am back from Norway and straight into a week-end away - full of Joy.
Now I am in a groove all the way to gigs all week and then on Saturday (Joan told me tonight that we check in at 4am at Gatwick ghhhhh) to fly to Venice Lido for a week of sun, I hope, and turning off the adrenaline.

So I have lots more Pipturesques to show you this week - lots more beautiful humans to be with and stimulating to the mind and spirit contained within this oak barrel of a chest.

I had a great big blessing in Norway. Stretched and stretching.
I took risks to do what I did.
They, Norwegian humans every one, responded to the challenge - as strange as it was for them.
I believe they will never forget it - me too.
Experiences linger in the soul like sand in an oyster shell ........... and out comes Pearls of Wisdom and Pearls of Wilson.

It is all in the reflection.
The learning through yearning and becoming.
Small or large decisions made.
About how we love humans.
How we will interact and love all humans differently from the next step on ......
and the big human
the beautiful self human
and the big non-human too .............

you are beautiful no matter what ............
