Energised

I saw a man crying on the London Underground today.
I didn't stare.
He had enough around him doing that.
He was being comforted by a loved one.

Men more than women,
have issues with expressing emotions.
Fathers need to model emotional intelligence
it seems to me.

I walked home with a spring in my step.
Tired, yes, but alive.

I have been with a range of humans this week.
All unique, I checked their finger prints!
It seems to me, that those at the bottom of the heap,
are wanting to break out of pretence,
whilst those who have so many masks
want to polish them
even when in pain.

Weekly I meet young humans,
living on twenty pounds a week,
Some say 'I am perfect'.
Then, once they feel a climate of trust,
enveloping them, there is a drop of the guard,
there is a seeking of a new way.

I am energised
but tired.

Tomorrow I will be on TV twice inside in one week.
A little dot on your screen again.
Joan and me are at the Saints Rugby League ground tomorrow night
(see Sky Sports around 7.30)
The last game of the season,
then the play-offs.
Last Saturday it was Wembley.

We face a long drive in torrential rain tomorrow,
and a hard game in hard rain.
And a week-end with Joyce,
equally hard in a different way.
She has forgotten already that she spent two weeks with us.

Which line above
disturbs you most?
Feelings are signals.
As with toothache,
they need a response.
I love feelings,
even the ugly ones.
