We have a pile of new songs.
Bono
U2 is recording a new album (one of at least two coming our way in 2011) with the help of Brian Burton, better known as Danger Mouse (Broken Bells/Gnarles Barkley), which is planned to be released early next year.

“We have about 12 songs with him,” said Bono. “At the moment that looks like that album we will put out next because it’s just happening so easily.”

The band is also working on a “club” album that is set to feature Will.i.am, RedOne and David Guetta. Bono said, “U2′s remixes in the 1990s were a real treasure. So we wanted to make a club-sounding record. We have a pile of songs.” As if U2 didn’t already have enough on their plate, Bono is contemplating recording the songs he did with The Edge for the Spiderman Broadway Musical, but hasn’t “convinced the rest of the band to do that yet.”

U2’s 2011 Tour will be preceded by a brand new album. Tentatively named “Songs of Ascent” will feature many jams the band debuted on their latest concert trek through Europe. According the Edge,” the songs are really, really happy. We’re convinced that we have something really special.” U2′s last album 2009’s “No Line on the Horizon” placed #2 in the 2009 XRT Listener Poll. We’ll have new U2 music for you as soon as it’s available.
