Leaked U2 jam session... drums kick in at the 3.25min mark (YouTube)
U2 fan has posted what he claims is material capturing the band in rehearsal for the new U2 album they're working on as we speak.
Titled "Leaked U2 Jam Session (2010-2013)", it's pretty loose and finds the Irish supergroup jamming on a groove and locking into it. It's a pretty awesome insight into the way the band operate. Bono scats over a noodling guitar riff we assume is The Edge. It's not until the drums kick in around the 3.25min mark that the song takes flight.
The band have been working on this album in various locations for at least two years with a number of producers including Danger Mouse (who worked on The Black Keys Il Camino), and The Black Eyed Peas Will.I.Am. So this could be stuff from early on or more recently. Whatever the case, it's peaked our curiosity for what's coming.
Early this year, Bono revealed to Dublin radio station, Sunshine 106.8FM, the working title for what will be their 13th studio album.
“Within the band, we've been calling it "10 Reasons To Exist" – but I will tell you we might have at least six of them," Bono said.
