Saying GOODBYE as a member of the Greenbelt Board of Trustees.

A big day yesterday.
It was my last Greenbelt Festival Board meeting having been a member/volunteer on that Board for some 28 years - I think!

I was scheduled to go last year and the time is right, but I was asked to stay on for another year.
The time is right. I don't have the energy I once had and we need young humans in there and every level/activity within Greenbelt.

I was emotional about it -
last year
but now totally accepting and used to the fact I was leaving a group, groups, community, festival ...................... of 20.000 people , 1,000's more really having been attending the festival for 37 years (I think).

I believe in belonging and being committed.
Groups feed each other. Cultivate a sense of belonging - nurture - growth - challenge  .......... Love it and I will miss Greenbelt, the Board people, but forever a Greenbelter, Greenbelt Angel (the Supporters Club) and being a worker, NOT just a TAKER but a MAKER !

It is also the last Directorship of a Charitable Board. I used to be on the Boards of Scripture Union, FYT, Cockney Spirit and Greenbelt but passionate still - as a volunteer without portfolio.

Greenbelt - I have offered myself all along the line with my skills, weaknesses, experience, vulnerabilities, Youth Work, Faith Journey, Urban, Management and Leadership experience.
I have also drawn from Greenbelt MANY wondrous experiences and learning as I have received and given all I have.

If you have never been to Greenbelt or not for some time - get there this August
www.greenbelt.org.uk and feed off it and learn and offer yourself as a volunteer - all that you have.
We have just moved to a new site - incredible venue, and we need all the support and attendance we can get as we venture to the edge in the discovery of life as it relates to FAITH ARTS AND JUSTICE  ................. they collide at Greenbelt.

Yesterday Martin Wroe asked me a few Questions before a large crowd of volunteers and staff. Here are a couple of the snaps .............
Goodbye Greenbelt

But not on your life - I am with you forever.
