Eagles of Death Metal have praised U2 for the lengths they went to to care for them following the Paris terror attacks that took place at their gig in the Bataclan Theatre.
The US rockers were left traumatised after audience members were killed and injured at their gig in the French capital on November 13, an event that left 130 people dead.
The band has now spoken out on the kindness U2 has shown them after the attacks – offering their stage to them at the Irish rock band’s rescheduled Paris gig earlier this month.
In an interview with Rolling Stone magazine, singer Jesse Hughes said: “U2 were trying to make sure we didn’t have something in us killed.”
“They would have accomplished their goal if they had just performed the song with us.
“They didn’t have to give us the stage for the last song. And they did. They took care of us completely,” he said.
Jesse also revealed revealed that Bono sent him a phone with a note telling him to call his mother the day after the Paris terror attacks.
“Bono knows that I’m a Christian, and he also knows I’m a mama’s boy,” he admitted.

“The very next day (after the attack), a courier came with a phone that had a note that said: ‘This is from Bono. Make sure you call your mom.’ I thought that was awesome.
“It was the first time that I really got to talk to my mom without being in a police station, and that meant the whole world to me at that moment,” he added.
“Then Bono called because I needed advice. I felt like the best person to ask for advice on how to deal with this is someone who’s rubbed elbows with world leaders.
And he just prayed with me on the phone.”
