Devastated friends of a Girl Scout stabbed to death in a park said she was “the most happy person” as they laid flowers at the scene today.
A-level student Jodie Chesney, 17, died last night in a horrific attack that is believed to have been random.
She was involved in the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme and took part in the annual Festival of Remembrance at the Royal Albert Hall last November.
She had also been pictured at Number 10 during a visit to Downing Street.
One sobbing girl said today: “She was just the most happy person, she never stopped smiling.
"She was studying psychology and sociology but I think she still didn’t know what she wanted to be when she was older.”
An 18-year-old lad added: “She was just such a nice person, she never even had arguments with anybody.”

Tributes have been paid to Jodie Chesney by her devastated friends

One girl’s mum said: “They were just sitting there – they were having a Friday night giggle.” Another mum said Jodie was “bright and lovely”, adding the friends were “hardworking college students who were never in any trouble”.
She said: “They had been just sitting there when they were targeted.”
Jodie was the fourth teen stabbed to death in London this year.
Local Teresa Farenden told how she raced to the East London park at 9.25pm after hearing a boy scream: “Help! My girlfriend’s been stabbed.”
The 49-year-old put Jodie in the recovery position and tried to stem the bleeding.
