On Stage with the ShowGirl

Bono was on stage with Kylie Minogue in Sydney last night, performing a pop-perfect version of Kylie's 'Kids'.

'Ladies and gentleman we are in the company of greatness tonight, ' said Kylie, about an hour into her second comeback show at the Sydney Entertainment Centre. 'Put your hands together for ... Bono!'

'And we'll paint by numbers
Till something sticks
Don't mind doing it for the kids...'

As if the audience weren't already elated at seeing Kylie back on stage following her illness, the arrival of Bono raised the temperature still higher.

'Here Kitty, Kitty!' he called, as Kylie - dressed as a leopard and moving as gracefully - danced with him through a flawless rendition of her 2000 hit. By the end of the song she was on her knees, saying 'all you need to do is make some noise...'

Adam, Larry and Edge were also enjoying Kylie's comeback tonight - taking advantage of the one night off in the band's series of three Sydney shows.

.... and a better set of music was played in Sydney::
Third show in, second in Sydney and the temperature is rising as Desire makes the set. From Blinding Lights to Kite, here's what they played tonight.

..... no week-end away this w/e ...... it is time to catch up and do domestics .. .. .. .. and next three week-end are away and I intend to enjoy this one ....... and them all!

Next w/e we have a
Level Five Group gathering.

We have been meeting for 26 and a quarter years - doing the stuff you can see on pic here.

We meet and talk - but also - mostly - listen to each other.

It is a beautiful experience always ....

Oh, the comfort,
the inexpressible comfort of feeling safe with a person;
having neither to weigh thoughts nor measure words,
but to pour them all out,
just as they are,
chaff and grain together,
knowing that a faithful hand will take and sift them,
keep what is worth keeping,
and then,
with a breath of kindness,
blow the rest away.

George Eliot.

Jeff came to work with me for a year as a Young Trainee/Volunteer ..... some
20 years ago
and last week - he returned .. .. .. ............

Jeff was from Hong Kong and now does a big job in a youth work project out on that crowded and special place

Desmond was with Jeff and we all went out and hit the town last week.
It was great to catch up on each other - work - family - purpose - life and rock and roll.
We walked and talked - he remembers so much from his year and me so little.
He told me little stories of what I was like and he said some nice things too.
He told me that he once apologised for not doing the list of jobs I had given him and how I told him I did not expect him to do them all that day!

It was great being with him and Desmond in the New Piccadilly Restaurant
and the
Apple Mac Store and
Maison Bertaux and a wonderful little art gallery in Greek Street.

We walked to the very place where George Williams founded the YMCA in 1844 - it is just by the side of St Paul's Cathedral. The little Drapers shop is now replaced by a city tower block - but there is a plaque......

The walking and the talking was great and it all ended at Platform 18!

This is the Liverpool Street Station meeting Place for the little tribe to walk to Brick Lane for a beautiful Curry - the best in town.
They had the pleasure of meeting Steve and Richard and, in Jeff's case, seeing Joan again.

We talked so much about the relationship between Hong Kong and the rest of China. He said it is so poor in contrast with HK. Also, I was so ignorant about all this, that HK people like to be known as 'Hong Kong People' or 'Hongese' rather than Chinese!
He said that they are free to travel to China at any time but the Chinese cannot enter HK!

I would love to go..
I have a Level Five friend there, Annabel, and Mr Yip (not pip) who leads the Asian Alliance of YMCA's.
........ maybe Jeff will fix me up with some training work there too hey hey ........

Walking and talking ......... loveitloveit ...........

What a fab time we had .........

COME ON
come on!
have a go at this
anyone can do it
let's get interactive::

1 When you think of 'church' - which blob are you right now?

2 When you think of 'Church' in terms of humans who have a faith which is imortant to them - which blob is you now?

2a Same as above, about the humans, which of these blobs would be a person you know and love?

3 When you were a young child, as long ago as you can remember, which would be you in terms of your feelings towards any religious institution around you at that time?

4 Remove the building and just view the blobs.
Which one is you in life at the moment?
Which is you in your workplace?

This is just part of one of the tools on The Blob Tree CDR which has 50 different tools to use in varied situations. It is available from me. The Big Book of Blobs has now sold out but will be re-published and on sale via a specialist publisher in January 2007.
The best bet is the CDR if you want to get into the groove with blobs!

Thanx for interacting with me ..................

....... I am blogging early for me ......

.... had a gig cancelled today at late notice - sad. Had spent a day doing the prep. Working with 'the hard to reach' has spin-offs like this.
But my cold has gone - almost.

Imperfection gets in the way of well made plans - having a cold is imperfection too.
But all change gives chances to do new things ....

I think that accepting that we are on a road less travelled is important.

That we will make mistakes daily.
That we chose 'gradual growth' rather than 'instant perfection'

That life is about steps into wholeness
That God does not wave a magic wand

That is why it is important to have others around us connecting sharing listening and I love it when humans listen to me when I have had an experience, interior or exterior, and I am keen to express or reflect.
An experience reflected - wondrous ......

Becoming .......
"A musician must make music,
an artist must paint,

a poet must write,
if he is to be at peace with himself.
What a man can be, he must be.

This is the need we may call self-actualization ...
It refers to man's desire for fulfillment, namely to the tendency for him to become actually in what he is potentially:
to become everything that one is capable of becoming ..."
Dr. Abraham Maslow who coined the term
“Self-Actualization”
as the
pinnacle in the hierarchy of human needs.

I said to the person closest to me
- my interior self

"wow - look at that"

I was walking to the station this morning and beautiful full coloured green bush, with loads of red berries on, - hit me with it's beauty .......

About 5 minutes later I walked on a footpath of bright yellow autumn leaves and said
"wow - just look at that ......."

It was an experience of wonder and ............. I walked on with a different breath in my lungs.

Later on the tube ,under the bowels of London Town, I connected with my feelings. I was not reading the Guardian this morning.
It remained in my bag.
I was sitting with head drooped and eyes closed.

Nose full of a pepper pot contents.
Eyes with a watering can in each.
Limp frame of a body.
Brain seemed to be injected with a numbness.
Hmmmm I said to myself - that is how I feel ....... but I had a good day and I think I will be able to finish my French Onion Soup now.
The streaming cold seems to be on it's bike. hey hey .......

Sheila came home tonight as she is working, TV Directing, locally tomorrow.
Reminder or mind jog - her Pimp my Ride UK programme is on Channel 4 (or 5) on Friday night and Saturday too.
We arrived at the Wilson Mansions Railway Station about the same time and walked home to the Wilson Mansions together. She linked my arm and we each talked about our day.
The positive - the negative and the feelings ............. loved it.
Now it is just me, my friends Cointreau and Anders Trentemoller, inside the stereo, and a head full of thoughts.

I cannot tell you much about today. It is appropriate to do that sometimes. I like to tell you who I am and the doing things too - but sometimes it is too sensitive. I do think, however, that the adrenaline has helped me kick the common, so common, cold right into touch.

It is said that you only really love and know five humans in the whole of your life.
Why shouldn't one of them be you?
