Julie Benson is in love with
Kenton William.
8lbs 6 oz 21 inches.
Blond, beautiful and healthy.
Born 5:11 pm.

A water bearer in India had two large pots,
one hung on each end of a pole which he carried
across his neck. One of the pots had a crack
in it, and while the other pot was perfect and always
delivered a full portion of water at the end
of the long walk from the stream to the master's house.
The cracked pot arrived only half full.

For a full two years this went on daily, with the bearer delivering only one and a half pots full of water in his master's house.

Of course, the perfect pot was proud of its accomplishments, perfect to the end for which it was made.

But the poor cracked pot was ashamed of its own imperfection, and miserable that it was able to accomplish only half of what it had been made to do.

After two years of what it perceived to be a bitter failure, it
spoke to the water bearer one day by the stream.
"I am ashamed of myself, and I want to apologize to you."

Why?" asked the bearer.

"What are you ashamed of?"

"I have been able, for these past two years, to deliver only half my load because this crack in my side causes water to leak out all the way back to your master's house.

Because of my flaws, you have to do all of this work, and you don't get full value from your efforts," the pot said.

The water bearer felt sorry for the old cracked pot, and in his compassion he said, "As we return to the master's house, I want you to notice the beautiful flowers along the path."

Indeed, as they went up the hill, the old cracked pot took notice of the sun warming the beautiful wild flowers on the side of the path, and this cheered it some.

But at the end of the trail, it still felt bad because it had leaked out half its load, and so again it apologized to the bearer for its failure.

The bearer said to the pot, "Did you notice that there were flowers only on your side of your path, but not on the other pot's side?

That's because I have always known about your flaw, and I took advantage of it. I planted flower seeds on your side of the path, and every day while we walk back from the stream, you've watered them.

For two years I have been able to pick these beautiful flowers
to decorate my master's table. Without you being just the way you are,
he would not have this beauty to grace his house."

The Sheilas

Fathers Day
2008
lovemlovemlovem

I am tired
I am flaked
I have not recovered from our holiday yet
I am not in the blogging groove.

Funny
often I am drained and I just blog stuff
it just pours out of my soul.
I need to undress -
my soul.

I feel I have not stopped since returning from a weeks holiday.
Joan said tonight, that she feels she has not been on holiday.
It was different, great, wondrous but, maybe, we did too many things and did not chill enough.
?

I have been working in Kings College today.
First time there.
All the beautiful human students are in their last week of their course - and I go in to
disturb their comfortable
(and comfort their disturbed)
I hope!

I was with 21 humans.
Objectives::
Experiential, emotional literacy, communication ALL under the heading of 'every child matters'.

It was great.
They were beautiful to work with.
They were responsive, co-operative and, as you would expect, intelligent in all things learning.

I felt that it was fertile ground- partly.
They digged in to all the active 'doing stuff' but I sensed a holding back.
I am used to working with 'special needs' humans more than student/professionals.
I find that these groups, with their raw needs, are far more willing to 'self disclose' ONCE there is a climate of trust established.
This can take some time - sometimes.
Other times - fools rush in ........ they take the advantage of permission given
opportunity given -
to capture the new experience full on

As you know, if you click this way often, I believe that vulnerability is a strength - not a weakness.
It is better when we deliberately disclose weaknesses rather than wait until they leak uncontrollably.
So many are unwilling to move out of their comfort zones.
Growth does not reside in a place called comfortable.

Today - great steps were taken. New experiences were felt. Considered - reflected upon.
We had some massive participation and feedback - reflective practice full pace.
I feel for them.
Many going into their first teaching jobs.
At least one with an interview this week.

From their generous feedback - they appreciated an informal educationalist, who knows zilch about formal education, going into their space and offering a life of experience - all offered with encouragement that they take what they want, transpose anything they can, into their own context.
They did.
I appreciate what they offered me.
Acceptance and I felt valued.

So here I am.
I have lost 100 or so emails.
Not answered.
One, The John O'Donohue memorial reminded me, was from Kristine his partner and beautiful human.
I also have 120 emails that need an answer and I have no energy for them.
Week-end is a light at the end of the current tunnel .............

I said on my face book update
'I want to love'
'I want to be loved'
MY face book name is 'beautiful' - thanx Torgrim for fixing this for me so so so long ago and I still like it.

My Mission Statement says on the bottom
"I have decided to make my life an act of love"
That means I am trying.
It is a Mission objective - a life purpose.

I have lots more churning in the washing machine of my soul
but must leave you to knock out some zedzs
and run a spell check on my vulnerability .......................

Just want to say
you are beautiful
it does not change the fact - if you do not feel beautiful.
Not many 'feel' beautiful.
you are beautiful ...............

"When your soul awakens,
you begin to truly inherit your life.

You leave the kingdom of fake surfaces,
repetitive talk and weary roles
and slip deeper into the true adventure of who you are
and who you are called to become.

The greatest friend of the soul is the unknown.
Yet we are afraid of the unknown
because it lies outside our vision and our control.

We avoid it or quell it by filtering it
through our protective barriers
of domestication and control.

The normal way never leads home."
John O'Donohue

Fathers Day today and a beautiful meal out with the Sheilas.
Thanx you beautiful human daughters for the great meal and the cards I forgot to thank you for. ............ and for you listening to me bursting with emotion - telling you about the wondrous experiences I have had since we last met.

Then on to a special - so special and moving evening::
"Remembering John O'Donohue"
- a celebration of the life of the great man.

Moving so moving - I am blessed.
More words tomorrow because the words will not flow deserving of a man who's words flowed like mercury.

But I clicked these words when I first heard of his death,
specially for you - here - now::
'I want to give you a hug
full body
head to toe
long.

After yesterdays shocking news
again I am jolted.
Life is not always
and I don't want to lose you.

I believe in life eternal
but I love the life we have
don't want to lose it
don't want to lose you.

Nothing is more important
today
than grasping life today
because I don't want to lose you.

I want to be with you
drinking in the every drop
of your eye moisture
your facial expression
your body movements
laughter
gasps
intakes of breath
silences
questions
expressions
touch
because I don't want to lose you.

I don't want to lose you
and the thought of it
wakes me up early
overtaking all else
scanning the mind
scanning the soul
because I don't want to lose you.

I want to be close enough
to feel your breath
feel your pain
feel your spirit
feel your ordinary
your being
your becoming
because I don't want to lose you.

I am full of feelings
overflowing
my own feelings
and then touching yours
only part known
but I want them all
I want to be synergetic
because I don't want to lose you.

Words are not enough
but I try to express
because I don't want to lose you ......................'

A Bringer of Great Blessings: Remembering John O'Donohue
Sunday June 15th, 6pm St Luke's Church, West Holloway, London Town N7

Poet, priest and philosopher John O'Donohue died suddenly in January at the age of 52. A mesmerising public speaker and dazzling writer, John developed a global audience for his writings and his life has been celebrated on several continents. This event, organised with his partner Kristine Fleck, will feature video and audio footage recorded in the final months of John's life, excerpts from his writings, tributes by those who knew him (in person and on the page) and a chance to quietly reflect.

I will be back at this same place tomorrow
with my head on!!

you are a beautiful human ..........

Colourville
Wonderville
Creativityville
Historicville
Canalville
Lagunaville

This place is one of the two most mysterious places on earth - known to me.
I click all the time. Such shapes, colours, textures - love it.

I normally click pictures of the most beautiful ........
= humans.
Here, I am clicking in many different directions.
Even non-humans because of the colours - the differences.

I never fill my blog with just doing things.
I live with feelings too.
I was in Irritationville this morning.
Irritated in Venice!!
I felt those feelings but did not communicate out the behaviour.
I say it - acknowledge it, I have to.
I feel it in my face too.
I express it to Joan but in a reflective sense - nor snappy.
Then I think why am I irritable?

I woke up feeling a bite on my ankle.
I have several of them several places - these mosquitoes most love me.
1 Woke up three times putting on some soothing ointment on my ankle this morning - the stuff was not working well.
2 We said we would go out for breakfast and I was hungry.
3 I had no focus for the day - we had a great day yesterday and I awoke with no plan and that did not help my grumpy morning feelings.
It soon went after breakfast.
Funny - we take feelings everywhere - even on holiday!

We have decided not to charge around Venice every day. We will chill on the beach or other places and save the energy for evening bus trips in to Venice in the evenings. It is just great to go everywhere by bus (boat). We have lined up the next Trattoria, planned the route, the bus stop, the way to walk through these little streets with funny names and ...... we escape the millions of day visitors!

It is expensive here - more than Romford, more than London. The rented flat is reasonable - better than Greece - if you are interested. Venice hits you - the Lido is better.

It is not easy to blog here -( I need a new iPhone!!!!!)
I have to hand in my passport to use the net anywhere. The good thing is, it is to stop or track 'child abuse images' (I hate it being called 'child pornography - it is abuse abuse abuse - not porn!). All users of the web, in Italy, have to be registered, even at a cyber cafe. ...... and it costs 5 euro an hour. On top of that, as in Norway, I can receive SMS on my phone - but not send grrrr. I feel a little cut off from the world.
So ......... I am clicking these words and have no clue when they will hit the world - wide web.

I would love to tell you this face to face - but better than nothing::
you are beautiful .................................

ps:: more than Venice ............................
