I have wept this week
several times
in a dark place
hit by pain
right in front of me
and in strong memories
I was watching the movie The Interrupters.

I was in a dark place
a cinema
west end of London
and it was dark in many ways.
It was all about gangs
so close to my home
yet this is based in Chicago

It was not fiction
it was nearly three hours of pain
and courage
and hope
and my tears

I was with a friend
I having much experience of gangs
He having it from a different perspective.
It hit us both differently.

I never recommend
a restaurant
a holiday destination
a book
an album
a movie
but
everyone working with humans
or interested in change
society
inner city
riots
Please consider doing this .....

violence
making a difference
being on the edge
living life
as a living sacrifice.
