What do you think about when you have toothache?

I am challenged by humans who won't let me close.
I understand that and support their rights.

But I want to get close so I can offer support and anything they want.
The problem is toothache.

What do you think about when you have toothache?
ANSWER;
'toothache'.

So .....
they don't want me close because life is absorbed by toothache.
I understand. - That one thing which dominates all other decisions - step - moving ahead ........
So ........ it is slow.

Part of the solution to toothache is allowing others to get close.
Isolation and toothache don't get on.
In time and with opportunity - they will accept me.
Some.
Then I will build a relationship -

a climate of trust -

consistent -

reliable.

Then the toothache - sometimes called;
homelessness
alcohol
addiction
insecurity
fear of failure
emotional deprivation
broken spirit
depression
hopelessness
insecurity mental health anxiety ......

andmoreandmoreandmore .....

I am not the answer to all/any of these ......
..... the issues of life, it seems to me,

need to be addressed as part of a community ...... it takes a village to bring up a child - "BECOME your own village"

learning from each other.
me too
me learning too
me giving too
I feel my role is facilitating these things to happen.
Structured experiences - because they just don't happen on their own so easily.

Do you get what I am on about ......... working with those with the greatest needs, takes some considerable time and emotional resources ....

"Community is a safe place precisely because no one is attempting to heal or convert you,
to fix you, to change you.
Instead, the members accept you as you are.
You are free to be you.
And being so free, you are free to discard defenses, masks, disguises: free to seek your own psychological and spiritual health."
M. Scott Peck

hope you get part of it ...... I only get a part of it.

My whole life has changed.

.... I call myself an ‘Emotion Detective’ because my inner

being /

feelings /

thoughts /

behaviour /

are all part of my engine =

how I think

relate

behave

weep

communicate

interact

love …….

I want to learn & understand all these workings ... DIG into my innards so I am in charge NOT some hiding and dodging feelings .....

.... and all the time I am blessed with you.
Staying with me.
Connecting with me.
Touching cyber finger tips with me …………………

I don't have a right to say

about you

NO RIGHT TO SAY

but I have a right to LOVE

I know that humans worldwide are hiding, hurting, mixed-up, alone, lost purpose, indoors too much, full of feelings, no avenue of disclosing ...........I will also say ...and NOT SPILLING

= L O S S

I can only say that this is me too. I am not living the life I want to live. My whole life has changed............ YOU are still  🅱🅴🅰🆄🆃🅸🅵🆄🅻

I can only say - try letting those feelings out with at least one other human who you trust. It is a large step because you will be starting to uncover what you have not addressed EVEN to yourself - so unknown stuff will flow/spill BUT THAT IS OK

Shopping

I carry a notebook ALWAYS. Then I stumble on these reflections. YMCA Hostel Life

Touching TIPS in Berlin - LOVE IT

I' ve spent some time with members of our international community.

Sweating and groaning together about the Gulf............... The Gulf, the gap, the chasm between the humans of our planet. ....... I just want to listen.......... There is so much to learn from seeing the world through the feeling eyes of an Israeli, a Palestinian,

Liberian and several Arabians.

Salem shares his concern for his mum back in the bomb zone.
He went on to say a funny thing

"Will you protect us if things go wrong here Pip?"
He went on to reflect upon the night when a number of our German residents were beat up in the local pub after the English World Cup defeat.

I am interrupted to deal with a homeless person.
That's not the problem.
This time we can help with a bed - but the depression - the hopelessness

(That means, special persons, talking to someone who has nothing, nowhere to go -     pause on that!) the no dosh, and a bureaucracy which only creeps along in its co-operation.
Her life chances could depress me too - if only I allow it to grip so I allow it to touch me but then place my mind to the fore.
Action it.
Deal with it.

A caterpillar looks nothing like a butterfly but one develops from the other ....

... there is so much #hate around ….

people #abusing others who are different
than they are ….
different ways - online /face-to-face / facial expressions /  ….
…… since #Brexit in the #UK .....
..... since the election in the USA ....

Everyone we meet
or see or with a different
skin colour / accent / life-struggles
is fighting a battle we know nothing about.

Please don't have a hard heart.
Presume each person is doing their best.
See behaviour
but
feel beyond behaviour
try to see their soul
(facial expressions can say so much).

I believe we can ALL follow love.
Live Love.
To everyone.

Not only by silence but #speaking #love to those offended -
no put downs -
no #racial #prejudice -
.... we can all change
all develop .......

A caterpillar looks nothing like
a butterfly
but
one develops from the other ....

loving who we don't like .....

I have not given this reflection a title yet. I don't know what I am going to express ......

I have not given this reflection a title yet.

I don't know what I am going to express ......

Usually, if you know me, I write about being an ....... 'Emotion Detective' because I am always digging into understanding my emotions and those of others - and of course the behaviour which follows/discloses our emotions. BUT ........... instead of clicking keys about emotions I am about to create an opinion. (I would rather have emotions as I consider opinions to be more divisive and separate human from human.)

I use the internet, as you do, - the portable ways, web pages as well as mainstream media on TV. I am disturbed how so many humans are set in concrete because they only view the media which fits their opinions - THEN stays locked in on a certain set of opinions no matter how wild wacky or violent as they can be. Only reading/mixing with others who have the same strong set opinions does something to their values and way of life = Believing the most outrageous of opinions that I just can't get my head around.

The internet is rammed full of extreme opinions .......... to all I say 'YouAreBeautiful'.

I read all sorts of views and mix with a wide range of opinions. I never block someone who supports a way of life that I consider unhealthy to say the least.

I am saying we need to check out all views NOT get totally locked in on one extreme philosophy.

I have worked all my adult life with young people, especially, who have displayed horrendous behaviour - language - physical & verbal assaults ....... and more.

That is where the 'BHP' came from. Where "You are beautiful" came from. Because I could not cope with their behaviour without seeing/feeling their behaviour and hurts.

If we lock into only ONE culture we are then the victim of being blinkered -  especially if this way of life is linked to aggression and violence. ( Just read my stuff on GANGS).

Keep an open mind.

Mix with BHP's very different than you.

Don't follow others blindly.

LOVE all, despite our differences.

4 OPINIONS HERE - that's me for now.

Imagine your future ..............

5 - A - DAY FOR EMOTIONAL DEVELOPMENT - impacting on Mental Health & Wholistic Growth

1   Every time you feel a feeling, give it a name.
This may sound strange because we have feelings every mili-second but
I am referring to the feelings which stand out from the crowd.
The special pleasant one and more important,
the not so nice one.
This act of naming feelings will develop emotional literacy
- inner you, the important you.
The emotionally literate you.

2   Capture the strength of a feeling when you feel it.
Hold it in your hand so to speak.
Note it. Speak it or at least write it down.
Use it as a tool. A learning tool.
Try not to control it,
suppress it,
but manage it.

3  Give special attention to the anger, jealousy, envy and negative feelings generally.
Turn the emotion inside-out to examination it.
Take it by the throat and use the energy to understand it.
Reverse it into a positive feeling - use it.
Do something with it.
When I watch a movie or TV and see a fictitious character,
or a real life person, whose behaviour or attitude I don't like,
I ask why? Why don't I? What are my feelings?
What is the behaviour? Why is this person behaving this way?
I am taking the energy from my own emotions and using it.

4   If you only spend time with humans unlike yourself,
- being with humans in the same social strata,
it will be more difficult to develop emotionally.
Deliberately spend time with those who are different.
The more extreme the better.
Do the above with them. Learn from them.
Working with 'the hard to reach' is a great challenge
but massive in terms of learning.

5   All feelings are yours - not another persons.
Feelings inside you are yours.
"He made me feel angry" cannot be a correct statement
because nobody makes us feel. They come from inside us.
We feel. They behave. They have attitudes.
They can be nasty or beautiful.
Both ends of the spectrum can stimulate our feelings.
And - they, family, friends, colleagues, clients - in helping relationships
need a human in their lives who are getting to grips with their own
emotions - including ANGER.

A story in my life:: + a damaged hurt beautiful human who I, and many others, LOVED.

2003

I resigned my 18 years CEO post with Romford YMCA to go freelance. It was a call. I had discovered over some years that conducting Training and Group work with young people on the edge ........... was satisfying for me and fantastic to facilitate life-learning - life changing experiences with groups of specialist workers & YP  - where my heart lay.

I had been working also in many counties especially in Eastern Europe after the Berlin wall came down (hacked down!). 2003 onwards I wanted to do this kind of work full time.

I was a big step. Leaving 150 staff & 6k members - I was to step down in numbers to work with smaller collections of BHP's.

The first week of my new life was a one week break with my beloved -  then launching into a one week festival in Prague followed by weekly group work in three YMCAs + working a few days a week for YMCA England.

What stretched me was working in Hostels in London. I loved the challenge, going into these hostels, full of, mainly, young people who had experienced tough times as well as being homeless.

If you search this website you will find examples/stories of encounters with these special beautiful humans. I did love them - I still love these special humans with all my heart.

I want to tell you about particular young woman. NOT in my words but those of another young human living in the same hostel. If you read between the lines you will sense her behaviour, her needs, her character, her passion for life.

I can't remember the author of these words but you will 'get' much of who she was.
