I am reflecting.

'Why am I afraid to tell you who I am"
is the title of my favourite book.

Why am I afraid to tell you who I am - by John Powell
spiritual,
emotional literacy,
life affirming
- changed my life behaviour and
started me on a road less travelled.

22 young humans have lost their lives to the knife and bullet this year.
Last year it was an average of one every week.
Last night - another one.
Shot dead.
18.
Massive loss.
Not only to the family
and community
but to the whole of humanity.

I am leading a session
at Greenbelt
on the subject of gangs.
I have been leading sessions
this week on the same.
"He pulled a gun out on me ....."

That was said to me this week.
It is not something I am interested in.
It is not a nice reflective seminar for Greenbelt.
It is a sore full of puss.

Why are we raising children
who kill each other?
How are we doing this?

“Our lives are shaped by those who love us
and by those who refuse to love us”

John Powell
