My U2 Experience in #London last night - #U2ieTour - #O2Arena

I was at the O2 Arena in London's East End last night.
U2 was on the agenda.
The best I have ever experienced.

I say ‘experienced’ because it is always more than music.
YET the music was massive - powerful - real - genuine
and the visuals and creativity in communication was wondrous.

As with any experience
we can’t ‘word' it - it has to be seen and heard and felt.
Experienced!

It was appreciated much -
also
because I was treated with the ticket being bought for me by
Emmo my Greenbelt friend - a great music man of wisdom and taste.

We were in the RED Zone with Big John another great friend a U2 fan/worker/on-liner/moderator
and …………. we experienced it together.

I am into participation
NOT just having an audience but participants
TAKERS and essentially MAKERS not just takers.
People who know me and have experienced my
workshops/training courses and Rolling Magazine programmes
they know I am myself into being a taker and maker.

RIGHT from the start of the gig - 'the gathered' were singing - powerfully and
purely in response to the first single voice of Bono
opening the event without the band.

During the 2.5 hour show
a had a range of emotions.
Little doors and windows were opening in my chest
to allow the experiences to get through.
I was thinking - ‘I need this’
"Let it in let it in”

It was emotional / spiritual / feeding and stretching.
I was dosed in wonder
I was drowned in inner disturbance.
I was in tears with a number of songs which butted up together
to double the emotion
moving the spirit of Pip Wilson.

I wanted it on a stick.
I wanted a USB I could plug into
and capture it all forever in my soul.
My mind raced to connect deeper to the experience
and tear ducts worked overtime as I blinked hard furiously to not miss a visual.

I have the ‘Periscope' App on my iPhone.
I used it for the first time.
The images on my phone went global.
17 minutes in one powerful sequence
and love came flowing in as I kept my tearful eyes on the little screen.

It is tough to say it was their best gig yet.
But it was - for me.

Massive in colour and images.
Music deep and powerful.
Involvement massive.
Social JUSTICE issues and concern blasting out……..

I have followed U2 for as many years as they have existed.
In a a Radio broadcast studio as they were still young.
At the Greenbelt in 1981 I think?
In Italy Holland Norway + + +
all over the UK and more.

Every album - every radio broadcast - every word expressed.

I appreciate Emmo and BJ being my ‘carers’ for the #U2ie EXPERIENCE
with Martin forever warm and a friend as best one could be …… always an experience.

WORDS cannot express …………….

Comments: There's no Meerkat segment tonight, even though Amra -- a fan from Sarajevo now living in Dublin -- is brought on stage during "Elevation" to do the smartphone camerawork. Her video feed is shown only inside the arena.
Bono dedicates "Beautiful Day" to Paul McGuinness, who's at the show. Noel Gallagher is also in attendance, his third consecutive show.
Patti Smith walks on stage as Bono sings a snippet of Van Morrison's "Gloria" at the end of "Bad." Bono then tells the audience that she's going to "help take us home," and the band launches into a rocking version of "People Have The Power."

Some great music
and music makers here

Ahead of their live show at St Pancras Old Church, here's a chat I had with the two boys from LV, Will and Simon, discussing their beginnings, their D&B period, linking up with Keysound and Hyperdub, working with Joshua Idehen, Omkalumkoolkat, and the new project featuring Armenian pianist, Tigran Hamasyan.

Ancient Mechanisms’ is the fourth album by globetrotting London production duo LV. It traces a train of thought that was sparked by a live session with Tigran Hamasyan back in 2012: two and a half years down the line and a trip to Belgium later, the finished record is as much about the workings of musical artefacts as it is about putting the virtuoso pianist into new contexts.

Long periods of well-being can be dangerous.

Long periods of #well-being and comfort
are in general dangerous to all.
After such prolonged periods,
#weak #souls become incapable
of weathering any kind of trial.

#Growth does not reside
in a place called
#comfortable

Compassion is an unstable emotion

#Compassion is an unstable #emotion.
It needs to be translated into #action, or it withers.
The question is what to do with the feelings that have been aroused,
the knowledge that has been communicated.
People don't become inured to what they are shown...
.... because of the quantity of images dumped on them.
It is passivity that dulls feeling.

We are both on the road less travelled

I have been with humans
some not knowing how to become

I don't either
working on it though
but believe

'the means’
is the end
travelling

I feel ditto YOU
because you are on the road less travelled
yours
not mine
and I lurve holding hands with you on yours
or touching finger tips
through these keys

so vital
such a struggle for so many

one I am thinking of
living a complete lie
but has told only me the truth
when I last/first met him
first/last saw him in January
and then again yesterday
because of his openness then
he tells me a few words
and I know where he is at

tall
handsome
black
professional
articulate
great to be with
toothache
like hell
all his adult life

I don't think I have toothache
no preoccupation's
feel good in a restless way
want to be there
my big struggle is trying to understand
a few in a group who I am training in group work -
and they won't let me in
I am trying to understand their toothache
so I can love them in that place

hmmmm
because I love that you clicked me
will catch up with yours tonight

you are beautiful
no matter what
you are beautiful

keep in touch
fingertips

Expressionless face ...........

Cool Beer
Expressionless face
hip hop in the radio
me clicking you
downloading pix
from the week
about 50 a day
friday 95
fantastic seconds
of faces
always humans
never scenes
drink in the memory
interactions
transactions
I am on drugs
transaction drugs
I yearn to be with these human
drink in their lives
sip from their cup
of experience
ask questions
always questions
slow with opinions
full on feelings
loveitloveitloveit
cannot tell you
lots of
confidential
thinking about things shared
like
"My father always made me know I was fat.
I could never make him love me.
I decided nobody would love me unless I was perfect.
I felt ugly, as if I was falling down a dark hole."
jane Fonda
Guardian
and I believe in
beautiful imperfection
of self
of others
governments too
they are humans
even journalists
so I pour my life
out
never oppressive
I trust
liberating
I trust
always learning
always residing
in
a place called
uncomfortable
so grow
and thinking of you and your beauty
you and your beauty
do you feel like a bud?
of a flower?
or are you fully open
at
potential?
thinking
we need to lean towards the light
the sun
the son
the source of beauty
and
become …………………..
