It is getting close to the end of the Rugby League season. We play a few more Super League games and then we do the play-offs. That means the top six clubs play-off against each other to win the Grand Final - the big Super League Cup. There is a race by the middle ranking teams to get into the top six - some going like mad for the sixth place. There are about three or four contenders.

Our team, come on the Saints, are top of the league with Leeds close behind. If we lost one they would be sitting on our lap. The Catalans - the only French team in the Super League - there will be a Welsh team in next year too, are third at the moment and going good and strong. I hope they bash the Pie Eaters tonight in France.

We play the Wires tonight. Warrington that is. They are close to us geographically but are doing well at the moment after a season of inconsistency. We need to eat them alive tonight - I will be on my knees before the TV.

Next week we play in London and Joan cannot come due to Joyce being here. So I will go alone. That means I will catch the team LIVE three times more this season - next week, also at Wembley for the Final, the Saturday after Greenbelt, and the last game of the season, after Greenbelt - mid September, when we play the much hated Pie Eaters.

The season ends on October 2nd with the Grand Final and then there is a World cup in Australia ...... all this worthy of a prayer methinx .........
