It was such a positive day yesterday.
But today the media drives the peg into the heart with back to the negatives.
They have such a massive influence on our lives.
TV, Web, Newspapers and Radio.
If we let them ......................................

Consider the contrast between what is left of Gaza?
Set against the affluence seen at the inauguration yesterday?
No homes to live in
set against a massively rich city.

I delight in the Obama election and Presidency.
The coverage was electric yesterday.
His address was inspiring and I wish him well.
His comments about the wider world gives me hope.
I am hope-full.

The contrast today is a change of emphasis.
The nitpicking begins.
The urge to fill 24 hours a day news
will dig out every crack to reveal a so called chasm.
We all have cracks,
that's how the light gets in.

Gaza aimed bombs have stopped.
The destruction remains.
The media has gone.
Rebuilding not 'action man' enough.
So we follow the action.

I will have faith in the beautiful imperfection man, Barack Obama.
He says he will make mistakes.
Not many tell us that we are beautiful imperfection.
When the media turns days into negatives
I believe we need to stand strong.
We need to realise that the word Politician
has been ridiculed, just like Vicar or Social Worker or Do Gooder.
Obama has inspired humans world wide.
We need inspiring leaders.
We have a role too.
Lives based on principles not media tsunamis.

I love this bit in his speech:
To the Muslim world, we seek a new way forward,
based on mutual interest and mutual respect.
To those leaders around the globe who seek to sow conflict,
or blame their society's ills on the West -
- know that your people will judge you on what you can build,
not what you destroy.

We need to reach out to those different than ourselves.
I love Muslims
the one I know
those I don't
they are beautiful humans.

It is easy to love the lovely
around the world
and around us.
We need to also love the unlovely.
We need to hold hands with those we don't want to.

I love this in the Obama speech:
To the people of poor nations,
we pledge to work alongside you to make your farms flourish
and let clean waters flow; to nourish starved bodies and feed hungry minds.
And to those nations like ours that enjoy relative plenty,
we say we can no longer afford indifference to suffering outside our borders;
nor can we consume the world's resources without regard to effect.
For the world has changed, and we must change with it.

We need to hug the world.

We need to reach out to those around us
the world will get hugged in little streets
small communities
workplaces
community centres
homes - even.

I have not got the youth I had.
But I will give my all
living sacrifice -
I believe in this Bible challenge.
O Love that will not let me go ...............
