My Sheila worked on this programme on TV tonight.
She said it is just the best -
so funny.
You can imagine how Cilla Black sounds saying "GOK"

Cilla Black has confessed to forking out more than £5,000 in her quest to buy designer jeans.

The 65-year-old TV presenter revealed on Channel 4's Gok Wan's Fashion Fix she once paid a fortune to get a pair of bespoke jeans from the US.

Cilla said: "I have to have bespoke jeans, I have to have really expensive jeans because I live in my jeans when I'm not on camera."

She added: "I have actually paid over £5,000 to go to New York to get my American jeans. I'm not joking, I'm ashamed."

Gok replied: "Basically, that's about £5,300 for one pair of jeans. You've got the most expensive behind in the industry!"

Cilla is persuaded by Gok - on the show which airs tonight (May 5) - to try a pair of Topshop jeans and a leather jacket.

Cilla says: "I love it, love it, love it. Look at this rock chick! I'm looking at myself and I'm saying 'bring on the boys!'."

8 pm on one of the Channel 4 shows ......................... tonight.

It is a bank holiday week-end here in the UK.
Today, Monday, is the extra day to add to the week-end.

Joan is staying with Joy - I need to work to prep and clear the decks. Need bandwidth.
Sorry about the unanswered emails.
I have been off duty for a few days distraction -

As promised some Pipturesque from our day out yesterday/Saturday.
Made painful in parts due to the closure of the London trains and tubes - becoming SO normal as they try to upgrade the whole of the network.

But the event was nothing like pain - I loved it.
Great treat.
Great humans.
Food and the Champagne!

Thank you thank you thank you

Today I am
exhausted with pleasure.

Yesterday my 1950
Rock- Ola Juke Box
was returned refurbished.
Born again.

I bought it for about £50
It has journeyed with me ever since and has been as kicked around as I have.
In the last few years it has been dysfunctional.
We have a lot in common!

Joan and the Sheilas have had it repaired as a special present and it is booming beautiful now.

Today the nearest and dearest of us went to eat out in a smart restaurant in Mayfair London Town. Beautiful day.
All this champagne wears me out. (I will post some Pipturesque tomorrow).

Thank you too for your greetings and wondrous good wishes - blessings and all the extras.
Appreciated MUCH.
I wanted to show you some Juke Box pics - she is now 54 years old and still alive.
I would love you to see her - press her buttons .................

Thank you May

Reflections to be written are lining up in my head.
Need to be written down.
Have been doing this for years.
LONG before blogs and computers were invented.

I carry little note books.
Have 30 years of them.
Many of the thoughts -
most of them,
never get to be clicked here.
I store all the little books.
All dated, some A5, most much smaller.
////////////
Today 1985
I started employment at Romford YMCA.
I went to a funeral on the 1st of May.
Aunty Mary was buried on 1st May 1985.
So I did not work on my first day.

I looked around in this big building
eleven floors high
sports hall, gym, catering, squash courts
large.
I didn't want their office.
I wanted to be at the heart
in the centre
close to humans.
Not stuck upstairs out of the way -
out of the action way.

I spotted a little storeroom
right next to the coffee bar.
It was cleared out.
I filled it with
my Juke Box
My Pin-table top
desk
chair
and Mo my PA
and me.
In that order.

I was responsible for humans.
Dropping in became their habit.
Wondrous conversations
befriending
sharing
tears ...................

I always worked until midnight
(a was off duty afternoons)
late nights always the best.
Late night movie clips
followed by discussion -
they called it arguing.

Then ...................
I crawled up to our family flat on the second floor and I loved it loved it.
