Post Easter - going back to where we were? Reflection.

EASTER
GONE
BACK TO WHERE WE WERE?

Easter for me ........
we had Conniepops + Mum and Dad staying with us
all in our little flat
camp-bed crush !
BUT beautiful to do things together
and just hang out

We had some great  times with family
and our Greek family.

Sunday we all piled down to Joys with about 27 of the Greek side
all crushed indoors for a traditional Greek menu and drinks.
It had all been planned to be outside in the garden
but the weather meant we crushed together in one room!
ALL dining in a stripped room to get all seated AND
it was so great.

We Wilsons were welcomed and we loved the chatter and the traditions.
Those on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter will have seen many images
from such a fantastic time together.

We only said goodbye to the remaining family
after lunch yesterday leaving these Grandparents sagging
and searching for energy to reflect on the good times.

In-between the family and domestics
we did Maundy Thursday Church.
A great quiet service starting the reflective opportunities
on this earth moving event ..........

The best service for me in the year is
Good Friday and a three hour lockdown of reflection.
For years I have always searched out a church
where I am unknown .............
as I desire no human interactions
to reach out for
eternal ones
and
internal ones.

We went to Canterbury Cathedral.
3 HOURS - and I want that
even though you can enter/leave every half hour
we stay for the lot.

I was disappointed at the theme.
I always want to dwell on passion.
Passion week and the journey to the cross.
Soak it in
pain and all.
'Joy and Tears
flow mingled down .....'

The theme was not the above.
It was readings from
THE SCREWTAPE LETTERS
as written by CS Lewis in 1942.

So no human/s reflecting from the pulpit
only readings.
AND I was disappointed =
FEELINGS
but still my reflective mind
turned to taking what I could from the experience =
DECISION.

Conniepops sat in the back of my car
"I am bored" she said, she likes action - not waiting for her Mum.
I congratulated her on her ability to share feelings.
I was bored some to, not all, in Canterbury Cathedral.
I will return next year ..................to sip at the well.

Sunday -EASTER SUNDAY Church ..............
we were in our own stumbling together community
swelled with strangers - I wanted to chat to them all !

So it has been a communal, family, spiritual, tiring journey.
I guess all journeys are ?

I don't want to return to where I was before Easter.
I always want to be yearning
yearning to become ...........
Seeking the wholeness that I believe is created for us
but we never reach
because it is all about the journey
the becoming
the yearning
the seeking SHALOM .................

I look forward to colliding with you
as we journey along the way.
NOW
that is an exciting thought.
Colliding with you !!!!
It will be like colliding with God herself.
I love the thought =
FEELINGS

The behaviour of the fully human being ..........

SUGAR HOOPED WEEKS

People seem to forget
Or
Chose to erase
Those
Those sugar battered priceless days
That you
So excitedly give
Pumped with familiar phrases
Which would
Exhilarate if they felt
Whilst others would scorn
My sweet
You
Sit and wonder
Why their fuck off phrases
Continue
To meet
And dampen the torment
The fear
That maybe you
My friend
Maybe you once felt

I once did wonder
If I could give
If I could touch
That trembling hand
That unheard heart
That let alone
I do
And in them
And these
Sugar hooped weeks
You
My friend
Beneath the spangled words I taketh
Are
Simply beautiful too!

ORDINARY LOVE - Mother Teresa

"We must not think that our love has to be extraordinary.
But we do need to love without getting tired.
How does a lamp burn?
Through the continuous input of small drops of oil.
These drops are the small things of daily life:
faithfulness,
small words of kindness,
a thought for others,
our way of being quiet,
of looking, of speaking,
and of acting.
They are the true drops of love
that keep our lives and relationships burning
like a lively flame."

- Mother Teresa

Give and don't count the cost.

If were to go back to the hill.

If I were to go back
Back to a hill
A hill with a gentle man on a cross
Would I listen to him forgiving all.
Would I watch the Saviour take my pain, my punishment, my death
If I were to go back
Would I fall on my knees and scream ‘It should be me!’
Would I raise my hands to the Christ
And shout my praise, my thanks, my love
Would I cry out to all who would listen of the joy and peace that is mine
Because this man took my place.

The SAINTS and a tragic LOSS - I am in a dark place.

I am just emerging from a dark cupboard.
It was a massive loss to the worst possible team.
BUT we played bad.

EVERYONE played their guts out but it was a bad day when the simple things like catching the ball went sickly wrong.
If we feel bad - so much more they guys out there in the squad and the backstage crew.
They wanted to win so much for the great crowd and all the rest of us all around the world.

What they need now is supporters - encouragers - firm fans whatever the weather.

We will return to getting a grip of that ball and we will deliver this season HOPE at Widnes - mores at Leeds.

I am nursing my darkness after the game - many others bruises AS WELL ..........
hope the guys are well enough for a great Monday WIN.

Come on you Saints
