SATURDAY 29/08/2009 12:55 @ Greenbelt
A GREENBELT MOMENT
AT THE GREENBELT FESTIVAL 2009

I was hovering around the Grandstand waiting few minutes before the 1pm Trustees meeting.
I drifted in front of the small stage normally reserved for our most popular speakers.
They can speak to thousands from this little stage.
Better than watching horses it seems to me.

On stage was a guitar player, cello player and an African man singing and playing a large guitar type instrument.
Forgive my ignorance - especially if you know what it is called, you can be smug for a moment,
He played some beautiful sounds.
The sort of music I love.

I drifted closer and snapped a few shots from my iPhone.
Then I turned to the sound record app on my iPhone.
As I walked around I recorded it for a while.
Then five minutes later I dashed away, a wee late to my meeting.
I kept the recording going
and it fades with my walk .................

All recording end up on my iTunes, iPhone, car, travel, and
I was thrilled to hear the quality.
There I was blasting towards Leeds after the Festival
and these beautiful sounds fill my car.
NOW
I play it here on my piPhone player on my blog page.
You can even hear as snap a few Pipturesques.

The artiste was Kadialy Kouyate
You can catch him here on myspace. http://www.myspace.com/kadialykouyate
I will buy an album by him.
Haunting stuff.
Beautiful
