This is Oyvin from his visit here last week - seems a life time ago ....

..... have been to a Greenbelt meeting tonight. It was a review meeting following our wondrous GREENBELT Festival in August. If you have never been to the Festival - consider coming and joining us. It is the most powerful experience.

The autumn starts a series of meetings regarding Greenbelt.
It is every August - the last week-end in that month.
Four special days that takes a year and 4 staff and thousands of volunteers to pull together.
Soon there will be a week-end away for the Trustees.
A time to chew the vision and make crucial decisions about the future.

I am up late again. Joan and Zig are in their beds. Me clicking and thinking of you. Having a Cointreau. Not smoking a cigar. Not had one today.
Visit to the hospital tomorrow as a pre check before my eye operation in a couple of weeks time. Not really the eye. It is all about hammering a hole in my nose and fitting a plastic tear duct so I can weep without it pouring down my cheek.
I need to cry.
Also need to see a bit better because these tears in my eyes stop me from seeing proper.

Check a blog. It is Richard who has just started his course at
YMCA George Williams College in London.
It is so full of feeling.
Click here and save for daily inspiration.

Today - when I wake up - later, it will be 42 years since Joan did me the favour and married me!

Too busy to celebrate - will steal a day next week to have a meal out or something rock and roll.

The Sheilas sent a beautiful present today - will post a photo soon .......

My friend Paul sent me this quote today and I loveitloveit::

"when you and I stop pretending,
we expose the pretending of everyone else.
The bubble of the perfect Christian life is burst,
and we all must face the reality of our brokenness."

Don't
sacrifice
freedom
for
security

..... is one of my own ground rules.

In terms of the Conference I have just been on, I have sometimes felt alone.
I always move around at such events. Talking to lots of humans.
I never stick with one group.
I never find a group of humans I like
and then hang out with them, always beautifully possible of course, because I keep on the move.
Then - at certain times there are natural minutes and hours to hang around with established 'secure relationships'. Those are the times I feel more vulnerable and don't have a place to pitch my tent.

I have been like this for many years. Due to me working a lot with humans with special needs - and then due to the above strategic behaviour, I don't have many friends. I have loads-a-humans who love me and me them. But I consider that I don't have a lot of real close friends.

"It is said that you will only know and love 5 humans in all your life - so why shouldn't one be you?"

I love that.
I have been working on that.
How about you?

I am feeling good although tired as will all from the event. Sleep is not a big agenda item when you can talk to so many beautiful humans from around the globe. Loveitloveit.

These photos are of strangers.
They were a week ago.
Now I know them a wee bit of many of them - and see and feel their character - personality.
Passions.
Hopes.
Dreams.
Sometimes
fears .......

I believe that vulnerability is a strength - not a weakness ...... and I will continue to be as honest as I can about the interior me. I believe others feel similar feelings. ................. being in touch with them is beautiful ........ I feel fully alive - but the container is a bit tired right now!!

You
are
beautiful

Stax of eMails in my inbox so big apology if I am slow in getting back to you .....

This is the::

..... and here is an email I received last week which I love - it is reproduced with permission of course::
"Hi Pip,
My name's Michelle and I'd love to get a copy of your blob tree if poss!

On a complete different note I'm so thrilled your still doing stuff, I have many happy memories from my time at the Rolling Magazine at Greenbelt, I am a beautiful human being I've got the fingerprint to prove it!

U2's One is also down for my funeral...one of the most amazing times was being lifted up in the tent while One was blaring out...and then jumping up and down to Blur's Country house.

I am also privileged to be able to say that I was one of the last people to do the back bean trifle at your last year on the last day...who knew then that I'd be a youth worker now! I've just launched Gloucester Youth For Christ of which I am director. Pip, thanks you had a key role in my life.

Bless you loads and let me know about the book, Michelle"

Thanx Michelle
I just love that line::
