YMCA Roots for Reconciliation - a REFLECTON

I first published this from Madrid Airport on my way home.
Thought to re-post in case you missed it.
A big 8 Days in my life.

Here we are in Toledo Spain.
Not on holiday but a reunion of Peace Makers.
NOT just Peace lovers
But Peace Makers.
Everyday beautiful humans
Stumbling in our beautiful imperfection to make a difference.

The Toledo setting is in this city built on three cultures.
This once capital of Spain, but now an example of coexistence.
Living in a historic Castle of prolific beauty.

We are a mixture of young adults from 17 different countries.
All under the banner of the facilitating 'European YMCA'.
All who work for the wholistic development of all.
All of the nations with a history of conflict & a passionate desire to foster Peace.

Stories are being shared from a journey of confronting conflict with a message of reconciliation.
There is a powder-keg of emotions as we share and learn from everyone present.
Everyone a learner.
Everyone a teacher.

There are tears and much laughter as we inspire each other in our passionate imperfection.
This is a springboard for the next episode of Peace making.
The experiential nature of all we are doing this week will refresh and equip us all.

Follow us - reach out and touch a unique finger tip with ours.

Description

Now with all new illustrations, the second edition of these bestselling cards continues to provide a tool to initiate discussion and reflection around feelings. The cards span a whole range of emotions- angry, happy, depressed, excited, confused- and can be used to get people talking about feelings in a fun and non-judgemental way.
Blobs are a way to discuss issues in a deep, meaningful way and yet they can be understood by adults and children alike. People of all ages can relate to these appealing Blob characters; even young children can recognise when they start to feel like these 'funny people'.
The accompanying activity cards suggest several different ways of using the cards with individuals or groups; including how to relate the feelings shown on the cards to ourselves and others, identify positive and negative feelings and act out these feelings.

Comic book version.
