“IT IS amazing how quickly things can change in a life,” John O’Donohue explained. “For instance, you could be there of an evening up to your neck with things to do, and the phone rings and you are told that someone really close to you is suddenly at the door of death. “It takes three seconds to convey this information to you, and you put the phone back down, and you are already standing in a different world. That’s all it takes for everything to change.”
