Found this today - NEWSPAPER clipping 1946 St Helens Lancashire

If you read the small print you can see that just one street in this industrial northern town, Fry Street, Parr, St Helens, Lancashire - my childhood street, had a history of street parties and gathering - here mentioning 150 strong.

These were the days when people were so pleased to be alive, one year after the war ended in 1945, and wanted to be together.

Wanting to be together to celebrate being in the same street and wanting to lay on events for the children and families.
My Dad is in the photo - not me !! !  - or my Mam.
