Michael Been, lead singer in The Call,
will be buried in the US today
following his shock death in Belgium.

I feel emotional about the man.
His music
passion
depth
faith
energy
hit me many times
not the least at The Greenbelt Festival.

Let the day begin
his video
started the 'Very Stinking Late Show' every night.

The lyrics of the song 'I still believe' is like my biography.
Through the pain ...............

See it on YouTube
powerful stuff

I been in a cave
For forty days
Only a spark
To light my way
I wanna give out
I wanna give in
This is our crime
This is our sin

But I still believe
I still believe
Through the pain
And the grief
Through the lives
Through the storms
Through the cries
And through the wars
Oh, I still believe

Flat on my back
Out at sea
Hopin' these waves
Don't cover me
I'm turned and tossed
Upon the waves
When the darkness comes
I feel the grave

But I still believe
I still believe
Through the cold
And through heat
Through the rain
And through the tears
Through the crowds
And through the cheers
Oh, I still believe

I'll march this road
I'll climb this hill
Upon on my knees if I have to
I'll take my place
Up on this stage
I'll wait 'til the end of time
for you like everybody else

I'm out on my own
Walkin' the streets
Look at the faces
That I meet
I feel like I Like I want to go home
What do I feel
What do I know

But I still believe
I still believe
Through the shame
And through the grief
Through the heartache
Through the tears
Through the waiting
Through the years

For people like us
In places like this
We need all the hope
That we can get
Oh, I still believe

ZIG
my little beautiful
non-human friend.

I took him to the Vets yesterday - for the last time I hope.
She said we could take him of his medication. His temperature was down to normal and she give him a good body-feel without him growling and struggling as he did last time.

The pain has gone.
He seems more like himself but not yet so perky.
He went out in the morning and again last night. He has not done that for ages.

I have felt real emotions as I though we could lose him ........

Here is an item from Ekklesia

Over 21,000 visitors to the Greenbelt Christian festival have returned home after four days of worship, music, talks and performances. They were urged by Baptist minister Kate Coleman to remember that
“God inevitably breaks free from our theological dogmas and challenges us to meet him in a different worldview, a different culture, a different theology”.

Greenbelt, one of Britain's largest Christian events, is known for its focus on society, politics and the arts. This year's theme was “the art of looking sideways”.

Addressing the united communion service on Sunday morning, Coleman insisted that, “We're all capable of finding God in unexpected places and in unexpected ways”. She prayed,
“Lord give us sidesight – the ability to look over our shoulders into our blind spot, into someone else's reality”.

I lurve this singer
up and coming - a great new voice

Andreya Triana at her album launch. Photo: Evgeniy Kazannik
Our girl Andreya Triana's come a long way since the Academy in Melbourne '06. From collabs with FlyLo to her first longplayer. To mark the release of her debut album, a launch was held in London with friends, family and fans in attendance. Kieran Yates took notes and Evgeniy Kazannik snapped the action. Here's their verdicts:

Andreya Triana is undoubtedly one of the most exciting female voices emerging from the soulful depths of London’s underground right now. Featuring on the SBTV ‘A64’ series, gracing the Red Bull Music Academy podcast, and touring with Bonobo, she is definitely has a quality of something special. I caught her performing with Bonobo earlier in the year at The Roundhouse and I’m not too proud to say that I may have shed at a little tear at those husky vocals...ahem. Anyway, I’m hooked. Cue excitement then, last Friday when Andreya stepped out on her own at Café OTO in Dalston for the launch of her new album, Lost Where I Belong.
..... and this is my only recorded talk at Greenbelt Festival 2010

Sometimes the cheese is falling off our cracker by Pip Wilson

We all need tools in our life toolbox for the times we are sharp with the ones we love or “difficult” relationships at work. Level 5 is a tool, a skill to have ready for emotional moments. It is about managing emotions and learning the ability to avoid regrettable outbursts. A workshop to get tooled up.

Greenbelt Festival Reflections from the stumbling soul of this human ....

I love Greenbelt
I loved Greenbelt
Love it's edgy
walking to the edge
risky
wide view
broadband
looking sideways even.

I belong
I want to belong forever
It is incomplete
stuttering sometimes
fail fail and fail again sometimes
and
that's me too
beautiful imperfection .......

I bump into so many I know
Always more,
however,
always more new humans added to those I want
to meet/develop alongside
not annual
I want to love you forever ......

I want to
interact with you
touch/get to know.
I feed off you.

Every place I go
I am asked
'how is your Festival'?
'Fine' I say - love it love it.

On Saturday I decided to tell the truth
It was doing the L5 thing =
Level 1 = Cliches
NOT doing L5 but L 1 !!
Greenbelt is great
BUT
as for me
my personal satisfaction - not OK.

I want to do things at Greenbelt.
I was a restless as a wolf
I was walking around
dipping into lots
walking on
feeling alone
being alone
amongst 20,000 beautiful humans.

I am always restless
I am restless at home
restless at liesure
can never read fiction
unless away on holiday ......
I want to reside
in a place called uncomfortable
at least ......
stretched.

I did lots of bits around the festival
I filled in
meetings
introducing
one-to-ones-
-late-nights
and I love it
but

I only had one session this year.
Little profile.
No Youth Worker sessions
No Urban worker sessions
and that is what I do
live to do
feel fulfilled in doing.

So I started saying/
communicating in Level 4
started responding with truth
the nut that I am!

So my Greenbelt was that.
Do I stop going?
or
Do I start to change and become non-restless?
I don't know.
I will have to think/reflect
when my soul has recovered.
