I didn't expect to be going to a gig tonight ........ but ...... just come home from Kings College London.

Kings College is on the north bank of the Thames in central London. Only a few yards from the Embankment - road and walkway. It faces Bush House, on the Strand, where the BBC broadcasts the World Service Radio programmes from. At the side is Summerset House ........... and we are just a stones throw from Covent Garden.

Sufjan Stevens was the attraction and was only able to get a ticket - thanx to Greenbelt contacts ...... thanx.
It was all very interesting and I try not to use 'very' very much!

There was ten in the band - six contributing to the vocal, a string quartet, two trumpets and one trombone amongst an array of other instruments. The lead on all things was Sufjan presenting the set with a gentleness which stilled the packed crown so often. So many of the numbers were quiet and probing the soul - but then erupting to a louder but still sweet noise with the brass in full throttle.

I have only one album and I am familiar already with the songs - so haunting ....... and I recognised the songs so easily ......... different indeed.

Different day for me ...... within half an hour today I had the week-end conference, which I was leading this next w/e, called off. At the same time the week in Sweden was called off. ....... both were November gigs ....... but it is great I can go NOW to the Greenbelt Trustees w/e this w/e ...... which I was having to miss.

Hope you are 'glass half full? ..... and not 'glass half empty'?

My mind works in pictures .........

I am trying to think about you and your life ....... it may be an up hill climb ........ on a level ....... at the traffic lights on red ...... cul de sac ........ dark pathway ..... motorway ....... or a beautiful road like ........ (think of your own picture!)

It is seems to me that a road is a good picture and the main thing is stepping along it ....... what do you think?
