A Charity Board PARTNERSHIP/PARTICIPATION.

Effective boards Charity Boards usually take few decisions; they have a much more sophisticated role.

A great Board works in partnership with staff.

The critical ingredient of an effective board is to anticipate decisions.
Boards that anticipate are in command of the organization's affairs. Boards that fail to anticipate find that events run out of control and they are driven by circumstances into crisis management.

All too soon the board finds itself recreating the work of the staff, dragged into the detail and unable to raise itself into a more strategical role.

True partnership is being in Participation which creates Cohesiveness, Climate of Trust, Motivation, Commitment and Development of all humans involved
