(email me if you want details)

.. .. .... had my suit on today - first time for years ........ maybe the last funeral - tend to go casual-ish to weddings ......

Was in court again.
Just have to try harder with this imperfection of mine.

NO - was not me in the dock ....... I was at the Asylum and Immigration Tribunal in deepest South London

The scene is a young Kosovan man who has been in the UK for some seven and a half years - five of them as a result of the failure of the Home Office to follow him up after he had 'leave to remain'.
He is before the court to be deported - back home to an uncertain unstable society still working to become an independent state AND 47% unemployment.
I spoke to the Court with one Judge presiding, a warm sensitive man with a duty to interpret the law - but follow it too.
I spoke to the court on behalf of the Charity and also Bishop Sainsbury who is the Chairman of the National Youth Agency.
Three other witnesses spoke strong , bold, sincere and heartfelt. All three British citizens from Kosovo.

Article 8 gives some leeway to consider the positive contribution the respondent has to society. He is a Charity Trustee, has been so for four years, and a member of an International Group considering and actioning positive . He is a worker and tax payer. His c.v. stands up because he is genuine and as a human he stands in high regard - and it was the Home Office Civil Servant who said so - "He has clearly spent his time well" .. .. .. .......

....... from a war torn land he moved from being a community taker to become a community maker .. .. ..

The best bet for him, when he hears the result of his appearance in four weeks-ish - is the five years neglect by the home office ........ there are precedents about this.

The Judge said; "I reserve my decision"

Just thought I would share with you ....... the feelings are positive from me and the group who were there, including the Barrister and the Solicitor. I felt it was a privilege to be with him and them - stand with him - them........
