Advanced Course
A Workshop on::
Applied
Creativity

Qualitative researchers are increasingly called upon to enable innovation on behalf of clients. Sometimes this takes us outside the boundaries of traditional qualitative research and outside our comfort zone.

This course is designed to equip those involved in innovation/NDP research with a tried and tested bank of approaches, tools and techniques to generate new ideas. The course will enable you to evoke creative responses and thinking in others (whether consumers or clients) because it permits people to be creative in their own way. This is not about developing artistic creativity but about learning tools and techniques that will help you to take others into productive and imaginative spheres.

The course is aimed at senior researchers, advertising planners and research users.

Date and Venue::
Thursday 22nd February 2007

Facilitators::
Kristin Berg,
Strategic Planning Director for EuroRSCG. Over her 8 years at Euro RSCG, Kristin has led the strategic direction and implementation of marketing and customer relationship strategies for a number of our clients across diverse categories, including: telecommunications, financial services, consumer packaged goods, cause marketing, automotive and retail. She has worked with teams in the US and Europe and across multiple marketing disciplines including digital, traditional advertising and direct marketing.

Sue Jarvis,
Working with Energy. Until recently, Sue was owner and director of the research consultancy Consensus Research. Her experience of working with clients, colleagues, suppliers and research participants over the years has led her to recognise that we have the potential to be more effective in our business lives. She has come to appreciate that often what stops us from realising our full potential is not our technical skills or resources but the nature of our relationships with ourselves and our fellow human beings. Her search for a better understanding of human interaction has led her to draw on learning from NLP practitioners and motivational and business gurus. She has also explored the energy dimension that is evident in the healing world. Sue has over 20 years' experience of public speaking and workshop leadership.

Tim Morley,
Facilitator at the Innovation Lab. Tim has a knack of making the difficult feel easy. His relaxed approach disguises his efforts to create these translations that result in workshops and client engagements that are collaborative, engaging and exploratory. With a particular interest in deliberate creativity, Tim has worked with organizations large and small, across all levels of seniority from the boardroom to the shop floor. The common thread in all of his engagements is his ability to connect with the people on a very human level.

Caroline Pakel-Dunlop,
To The heart Ltd. Caroline’s multi-lingual background – she facilitates in both English and French - had led her to specialise in multi-national qualitative research from the early days. Over the last 20 years, she developed a passion for building strong relationships between brands, people and cultures. Her global perspective has led her to work on many international and national brands at all stages of development. Recent professional interests have led her to develop ways to deliberately generate and trigger a more creative mindset among respondents and to help clients implement research findings through creative facilitation.

Pip Wilson,
Training and Development Consultant. Pip’s experience of working as a trainer and group worker spans some 32 years. He is a Youth and Community Worker by profession. He is particularly experienced in leading teams working with ‘hard to reach’ young adults. He is also the author of five books of exercise games and tools for use in working with those with special needs. He currently works for the West London YMCA as a training and development consultant and also works freelance in the corporate and charity sectors.
