Reflections on our wedding anniversary = 54 th and the journey in PIX

Last week I mentioned the anniversary of our first date
I took my new girlfriend on our first date
to the Cavern Club in Liverpool.
'Gerry and the Pacemakers' were on stage.
BUT we were too engrossed in one another
to notice the band or anyone else.
Three years later
plus one week
= TODAY
54
YEARS
ago
we were wed.
We moved in our little house,
which we had bought
and decorated before the big day.

This was Parr St Helens Lancashire,
We both worked for
Pilkington Glass the biggest employer
in our town.
Joan in the HQ
and me at the Research Laboratories.
EXACTLY one year to the day
we moved out of our home town
to live & work in Cheshire - 40 minutes drive down the M6.
Yet it was a massive step to say goodbye ......
At aged 22 and 26 we became Residential Houseparents
in a Young Offenders Unit for all Manchester boys.
AND so our team work journey continued.
Five residential posts and multiple
stretching / learning experiences.
The toughest have always been
the best in terms of learning .... growing ......

AND here are a few Pipturesques to
help make this day so memorable.
