Conniepops and Sheila Mum are with us for six days and I can't get anything done

Why are six month old babies so compelling to hang out with?
Why is the teething painful to me at 4am when she is in bitter pain.
Why does she look at me for a whole unflickering minute when adults only fleetingly.
Why is she so beautiful when in tears/smiles/screaming/kicking to music/anything?
