Irish rock band U2 has announced via its website that a new song, Invisible, is in the works as part of an initiative with AIDS charity (RED), of which lead singer Bono is a co-founder.
The band has been shooting a video in Los Angeles to accompany the single, according to the announcement on the website.

While little else is known about the new song, internet speculation is rife that it will be revealed during the Super Bowl on 2 February. Previous reports stated the band would annonce its forthcoming album at the American football event, with a release set for April.
U2's 13th studio album, which comes five years after No Line on the Horizon, is expected to be produced by Danger Mouse. The band, meanwhile, just won a Golden Globe over the weekend for the song Ordinary Love, which was featured on the soundtrack for Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom.
(RED) features an online boutique selling special editions of products from companies such as Apple and Starbucks, with proceeds going toward the Global Fund to invest in AIDS/HIV-related programs.
