Every now and again I blog about music.
It is important to me
yet I play no instruments.
I just listen.

I play music
on my blog.
My very own PiPhone
playing my kind of vibes.
I love music.

I capture music
from radio
to my mac
to my iPods
and listen to hours each week.
On commute.
In the bathroom
the car.
Working at home.
When football is on TV.
Whenever.

I have favourite DJ's I listen to.
About 25 hours a week.
Fresh stuff.
New stuff.
I thirst.

I am inspired by music
spiritualised
motivised
churned
and turned.

And lyrics
'Silver scales flash bright and fade in reeds along the shore
like a pearl in sea of liquid jade
His ship comes shining
like a crystal swan in a sky of suns
His ship comes shining.'
Bruce Cockburn.

And lyrics
'Only love, only love can leave such a mark
But only love, only love can heal such a scar
Only love, only love can leave such a mark
But only love, only love unites our hearts'.
U2

It matches my mood
changes my mood
drives me to my knees
writes my words
triggers my tears.
I love music.

I love Level Five music.
Not the PAP.
I love meaning in it
when the music speaks
as much as the lyrics.
When music leaves me baffled
when it demands constant
repeats/re-listening.
When I am left confused
and even better,
when I am feeling uncomfortable.

Bono reflects on the genres::
"In the Psalms, David questions God,
'Where are you when I need you?'
Blues has this sort of honesty that gospel music doesn't have.
Gospel music is the stuff of faith.
It tells you about where you are going.
The blues tells you where you are.
God is much more interested in the blues because you get that honesty."
