After Gilles’ first tribute mix for the late great Donald Byrd, he soon followed it up with a second, three days ago. For this mix, he dedicated the tracks to The Electric Years, selecting the music from his fusion days when he began crafting his way into more soul/jazz. There are eighteen tracks on this one and it includes tracks like Think Twice, which some of you will know by the cover Dilla did for Welcome 2 Detroit with Dwele on keys, bass and trumpet.
