Someone said I write in PROSE - I had to look it up.

Someone said
I write in 'prose'.
I looked it up online yesterday
and I think I do.

It is as I speak I think.
I write small stubby sentences.
Meaningful to me.
Don't know about you.?

I once did and article for a US magazine.
They changed it all from prose.
It had to fit their format!
Strange behaviour!
Isn't the main thing that -
people understand what I am going on about?
OR - maybe, if it is deeper stuff,
they have to stop and reflect about it?
Which is good ....

Prose is a form of language which applies ordinary grammatical structure and natural flow of speech rather than rhythmic structure (as in traditional poetry). While there are critical debates on the construction of prose, its simplicity and loosely defined structure has led to its adoption for the majority of spoken dialogue, factual discourse as well as topical and fictional writing. It is commonly used, for example, inliteraturenewspapersmagazinesencyclopediasbroadcastingfilmhistoryphilosophylaw and many other forms of communication.
