Perform on the Roots Stage at Greenbelt

The Roots Stage is an open performance venue, where the creativity of Greenbelt festivalgoers can be shared and celebrated.
It is an open-mic, sign-up-and-play venue where the content can be anything. A great place to hear new acts, or to be heard yourself, Roots survives and thrives by relying on you, the festivalgoer, to provide the entertainment.
Throughout the day, Roots offers an open door to type of act – the newest bands, poetry, drama, comedy, dance – if you can perform it, you’re welcome to play. Each evening, the stage will be taken over for a series of unique engaging sessions; check the boards on display at the venue for acts performing.
If you want to play, come and visit us at the venue to sign-up for a 30 minute slot. We’ll provide a stage, microphones and lights, you’ll need to bring instruments/props/visual aids and whatever else you need. Slots will be awarded on a first-come basis (only after the festival site is fully open on Friday) and are expected to fill up, so make sure you visit us early.
Roots promises to be an eclectic and entertaining mix of young and old, the new and the familiar, all out in the open air. Do come and enjoy it with us; you never know what you might discover.
