This morning started inside a vivid dream.
My iPhone was set with a strange alarm sound.
It became part of my dream until I jumped with a dawning reality.
What a sluggish start.
I woke up in Church an hour later.
I was determined to get there today
My weekly coffee with Mr Singh has been absent - since November.
Christmas Wonderland says the boarded up shop front.
Grey comes to town.
It is a dismal dark morning in central Romford
I cough along with the birds who have dared to venture out.
The Farmers Market struggles to make a dent in the atmosphere of the day.
The streets look like they have been cleaned with a dirty paint brush.
I notice half way through the sermon that my head is not in it.
I apologies to God and strive to find the diamonds in the morning manure.
The music does it.
"Lamb of God that takes away the sin of the world
- have mercy upon me"
That is nearly always the peak of my worship
I am in need of that 'mercy'
The choir sings to me beautifully
I touch a deeper sense of self
I touch a deeper sense of majesty .......... Lord have Mercy .......
I see and cough/coffee with Mr Singh when it is all over.
I am always in wonder at his deep sense of devotion.
He tells me his life story from November 2007.
I last spoke to him on Christmas Day via mobile.
