A three-year Big Lottery-funded YMCA project will aim to tackle youth domestic violence across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough when it launches this June.
Respect, created by YMCA Cambridgeshire & Peterborough, will work with schools and other local services to teach young people about acceptable behaviour when in a relationship as local police reveal they are dealing with people as young as 16 who are accused of domestic abuse.
The project will also work with people affected by domestic abuse as well as perpetrators and their families to help prevent future incidences and raise awareness of the impact it has on those affected.
