Our inner being is who we are - not the face we decide to wear each and every day.

Powerful article in a Sunday Magazine last week-end.
Powerful because Rio Ferdinand was talking openly about his
emotions
vulnerability
weaknesses
pain
grief ................. and for me this is - Beautiful.

12 UK men commit suicide every day.
This is a big issue.
'Everyone we meet is fighting a battle we know nothing about' - why don't we find out and change the social norm?

I had an interesting chat with our local cobbler recently.
MAN-UP was his thing as with so many men.
That is what is expected.
The social norm !

Why don't we change the social norm?

It seems to me that we all need to have-a-go at this.
All of us being prepared to talk about our weaknesses & especially our feelings..

It must start with our children.
'Children cry because they don't know how to communicate their feelings.'
'Adults learn behaviours to avoid sharing our feelings'.

If we share our feelings to our children, not dumping them - not screaming them,  but calmly explaining how we feel.
They will then learn from us & they will grow up knowing how to do it.

There are more and more men coming out with their inner life issues.
Including a couple of Royals here in the UK.

Great men around the UK are taking a risk for their own development and their own mental health.

Our inner being is who we are - not the face we decide to wear each and every day.

I like the word SHALOM because it is about wholeness.
It is a journey - a target - an aim
NOT something we must reach
 - but journey with along life's way.

Lets hold hands as we discover better ways of living
and being
and becoming internally - into wholeness ..............
