.... I feel this picture so deep ...

.... the truth in it hits me .. .. ..

.... and I read today a quote by George Bush ....... I am not a great fan of his ::

" The soft bigotry of low expectations."
George Bush on the Welfare state.

I think I know what he is on about .... and I know that softness is considered a weakness by some humans - like some consider a vulnerability is a weakness when I THINK IT IS A STRENGTH.

When you are battered and hope is struggling to surface to gasp for breath ..... it is difficult to even think of expectations. When you are suffering from emotional deprivation, which often resides next to housing/schooling/financial/health deprivation, there is not much of a capacity to do much else - only survive.

..... and yet I meet with such powerful generousity from those at the bottom ....

It is good to feel the powerless-ness of Vicky Pollard ............ and so many others who are considered a drain on society by the high and mighty ..... and the rich and powerfull ........ get down on your knees Wilson ....... and drink from that well ..........

Another quick thought and hyperlink found just, today, on the www-web :::

"Pip Wilson, as he shows in his book, was a thoughtful and skilled worker. I was struck by the stress he placed on body language. Some hostile teenagers were hammering on the door. Pip went out to face them. Their body language spoke volumes, they stood legs apart, fists clenched, jaws protruding. Pip could have stayed with his back to the door. Instead he walked towards them and then sat on the kerb. Before long, the teenagers also sat and started talking. Pip's non-aggressive body language along with his vulnerability diffused the situation. A mixture of courage and skill."
